I'm looking to build a new PC and have been considering the AMD Ryzen 5 2400GE CPU. Does anyone know which chipsets are compatible with this processor? I've heard mixed things about X470 chipsets, so any advice would be great!

Solution

I've been using an X470 chipset with my Ryzen 5 2400GE and haven't had any issues. The performance is great, and it has all the features I need for gaming and productivity.

Thanks for the info @Rob-A-Tron! It's good to know that both chipsets work well with this CPU. Are there any other advantages or disadvantages of using an X470 chipset over a B450 one?

I've been using a B450 motherboard with my Ryzen 5 2400GE, and it's been working flawlessly for me. The main advantage is the price - you can usually find better deals on B450 motherboards compared to X470 ones.

That's true @stevierayblonde. While X470 chipsets may offer more advanced features and higher performance in some cases, B450 chipsets are more than capable of handling the Ryzen 5 2400GE. In fact, many users have reported great experiences with B450 motherboards for this CPU.

Thanks for all the input! It seems like both X470 and B450 chipsets are good options for the Ryzen 5 2400GE. I'll do some more research and see which one suits my needs and budget best. Any recommendations on specific models to look at?

If you're looking for an X470 chipset, I'd recommend checking out the ASUS Prime X470-Pro or the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max. Both of these motherboards have great reviews and offer solid performance.

For a B450 chipset, the GIGABYTE B450 AORUS Pro Wi-Fi is a great choice. It has a good balance of features, decent overclocking capabilities, and a nice set of ports for connectivity.

Awesome, thanks @bellanational and @stevierayblonde! I'll definitely look into those recommendations. I appreciate all the help!

No problem @rulerofpotatoes, happy building! And remember to check out the TechReviewer article I mentioned earlier: Which Chipsets Work With AMD's Ryzen 5 2400GE CPU?. It has some useful information on chipsets compatible with the Ryzen 5 2400GE. Good luck with your build!
