I've been looking into getting a new CPU and I was wondering if the AMD Ryzen 3 3300X is better than the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G for content creation. Does anyone have experience with these?
AMD Ryzen 3 3300X vs. AMD Ryzen 5 2400G for Content Creation?

Hi @KforKwality! I've been using the Ryzen 3 3300X for about six months now, and I must say it's been a game-changer for me in terms of content creation. The higher base frequency really helps when I'm editing videos or rendering graphics.
Hey there @KforKwality! I've used both CPUs in my projects, and I can tell you that the 3300X is definitely better for content creation. There's an article at AMD Ryzen 3 3300X vs. AMD Ryzen 5 2400G that gives a great overview of their differences. You might find it helpful!
Thanks for sharing your experience, @paddy511 and @no-love-lost! The higher base frequency on the 3300X sounds appealing. I'm also interested in overclocking capabilities, though. How do those compare between the two?
I've used the Ryzen 5 2400G for content creation as well, and while it's not bad, I did notice some bottlenecks when working with larger files or rendering at high resolutions. The 3300X seems to provide better performance overall.
Interesting, @modulos04! So it sounds like the 3300X is better for handling more demanding tasks. Any thoughts on their PCIe support and how that might affect my content creation workflow?
Yeah, the PCIe support on the 3300X is a huge plus. With PCIe 4.0, I'm able to transfer files to and from my SSDs much faster, which really speeds up my workflow.
That's true, @paddy511. The PCIe support on the 2400G is slower, so it can be a bit of a bottleneck if you're working with large files or high-resolution videos.
It's also worth mentioning that the L3 cache size on the 3300X is much larger than that of the 2400G. This can make a big difference in tasks that require fast access to data, which is essential for content creation.
Thanks for all the info, everyone! It seems like the Ryzen 3 3300X has some clear advantages for content creation, especially with its higher base frequency, better overclocking support, PCIe 4.0 support, and larger L3 cache size. I'll definitely check out that TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 3 3300X vs. AMD Ryzen 5 2400G you guys mentioned to learn more.
You're welcome, @KforKwality! If you have any more questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask. Good luck with your decision!
Same here, @KforKwality. Best of luck in finding the right CPU for your content creation needs!
