I would suggest reading this TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 3 3200G vs. AMD Ryzen 5 1600 to get a better understanding of their performance differences. In my experience, I've found that the Ryzen 5 1600 performs better overall due to its higher core count and L3 cache capacity.

Sure! The main difference between the two is that the Ryzen 3 3200G has 4 cores and 8 threads, while the Ryzen 5 1600 has 6 cores and 12 threads. If you're mostly doing light tasks like web browsing or video streaming, then the 3200G should be fine.

Solution

Thanks for the advice! I mostly use my PC for gaming and some light office work. Do you think one CPU would be more suitable than the other?

For gaming, both CPUs should perform reasonably well. However, if you plan to run resource-intensive games or do a lot of multitasking, the Ryzen 5 1600 might be the better choice due to its higher core count.

I agree with @AppleGranny. Also, remember that having more CPU cores can be helpful when running applications that use multiple threads. For example, video editing software often benefits from more cores.

Good to know! I also want to do some light streaming on my PC, will the Ryzen 3 3200G handle that well?

Yes, the Ryzen 3 3200G should handle light streaming without any issues. Just make sure you have a good-quality GPU for optimal performance.

Great, thanks! I'll look into both options and see which one suits my needs better. Thanks for all your input!

No problem! Good luck with your build!
