AMD 7900X3D vs Intel i9-13900 for Gaming?

I've been looking at the new AMD 7900X3D and Intel i9-13900 CPUs, and I'm trying to decide which one would be better for gaming. Has anyone had any experience with these?

In that TechReviewer article I mentioned earlier AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D vs. Intel Core i9-13900, it talks about how having multiple CPU cores can improve performance with games that utilize them, but most modern games don't benefit from more than 6-8 cores. So maybe it's not the number of cores that makes a difference, but rather the single-core boost frequencies.

Yeah, both are pretty good! I just got my hands on an i9-13900 and it's been great so far. The performance is outstanding, especially considering the number of cores.

It would be great to hear some opinions on which one performs better in games.

Thanks for the link, @hellogordon. I read through it and it seems like the base frequencies and single-core boost frequencies are quite different between the two. Any idea how that could affect gaming?

That's true, @Minime1251. It really depends on the game you're playing. Both CPUs have their strengths and weaknesses, but overall they both offer excellent gaming performance.

Good point @hellogordon. I guess that means it's essential to choose a CPU that can handle high single-core boost frequencies for gaming purposes. Thanks for your input everyone!
