I've been looking at monitors for my new gaming setup and came across the Acer 28" CBL282K SMIPSRTX. Can anyone tell me if it's any good for gaming?

Yeah, I've used that monitor for a while now, and it's excellent for gaming! You can check out a detailed review on TechReviewer Is the Acer 28" CBL282K SMIIPRX Good for Gaming? which goes into all the specifics. The 4K resolution really makes games look stunning.

I have this monitor too and absolutely love it! The only thing I'd mention is that the 60Hz refresh rate might not be the best for fast-paced gaming, but other than that, it's a great monitor.

Thanks for your input! So you think the resolution makes up for the 60Hz refresh rate when gaming?

I do believe so. The resolution is amazing and really enhances the visual experience, especially in games with lots of detail. However, if you're into competitive gaming or fast-paced action, a higher refresh rate would definitely be preferable.

Another thing to consider is the response time. The Acer 28" CBL282K SMIPSRTX has a 4ms response time, which should provide smooth gameplay without much ghosting or lag.

That's good to know! But what about the refresh rate? I'm not sure if I can afford a monitor with a higher refresh rate right now. Does anyone have any suggestions for monitors in this price range?

Solution

I've seen some great deals on the Dell S2721Q, which has a 27-inch screen, QHD resolution, and 144Hz refresh rate. It's not as big as the Acer monitor, but it might be worth considering if you're looking for something more responsive.

Yeah, I've heard good things about that monitor too! It's definitely worth taking a look at if you're serious about getting a monitor with a higher refresh rate within your budget.
