First Look

The product came in standard Vantec packaging (very flashy). Upon taking the VGA cooler out of the box, the first thing I noticed was the weight which shouldn't have surprised me since the cooler is made completely out of copper. Here are a couple of pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Standard Vantec packaging with flashy graphics.

Contents: VGA Cooler, 3pin-4pin converter, Vantec thermal paste, 4 ramsinks, 4 push pins, 4 thermal pads for the ramsinks.

The bottom of the cooler; mirror like finish.

Installation

The installation was fairly easy. Take off the old cooler, remove shim, clean, apply new thermal paste, install new cooler. I had no trouble getting the new cooler on with the use of the push pins. The contact between the GPU and the surface of the new cooler was fairly tight, no complaints. Here are some pictures of the installation on my Radeon 9500 Pro.

Here's my card with the old cooler on. Note the 40mm fan twisty-tied on... That was a temporary fix I did a few months ago. One of the ball bearings malfuntioned in the original fan.

Here's my card again, without the old cooler.

After carefully taking off the shim, I cleaned the surface of the GPU with some rubbing alcohol, then applied a thin layer of Arctic Silver 3.

The final product.

Final product in action.
