Performace
Here are the temperatures before and after I installed the heatsink @ stock speed. For the idle temperatures I turned on the computer, loaded up Windows left it on for about 30 minutes then used the AbitEQ program. For load I ran 3DMark03 for about 30 minutes and then got the temperature from the AbitEQ program again. Ambient temperature for all temperatures taken was 22C.
The Swiftech blows away the stock heatsink by around 10C! Now for a little overclocking; CPU is at 2.8Ghz from 2.6Ghz, default voltage,
The temperatures stayed pretty much the same with a little overclocking, not bad!
Conclusion
All I have to say is wow! This heatsink is absolutely nuts! This is one of the best heatsinks on the market and I can see why: dominating performance and a very unique design. I also like the fact that you can choose whatever fan you'd like instead of them providing you with a fan you don't want. All praise except for the installation which I thought sucked because of the huge amount force you had to apply to get the spring clips on and the helicoid pins getting in the way. That's about my only complaint and the packaging wasn't too bad either. The reason everyone doesn't have one of these heatsinks is because of the price; $41.95 is quite a bit for a heatsink without a fan, but I suppose you get what you pay for. Overall an excellent product!
