How do they sound? and Conclusion
How do they sound?
Sound quality: I'm not much of a sound guru or anything, but what I can say is
they certainly sound a lot better than my old Sony MDR-CD60 headphones. You can crank these
headphones up to very high sound levels, but not too high as there is a warning in the manual!
"This is a professional pair of headphones... This system is capable of producing sound pressure
exceeding 85 dB(A)... The following are sure signs that you have been subjected to excessive
noise for too long of a time:
You can hear ringing or whistling noise in your ears!
You have the impression (even for a short time only) that you can no longer
hear high frequencies!"
The only complaint I have is there isn't as much bass as I'd like there to be, but it has much more bass
than your average Walmart headphones. You can easilly correct this in the Winamp Equalizer or the Creative
Sound configuration utility. Overall, it has great sound quality!
Comfort: I've been using these headphones for about 4-5 months and
I've had no problems with these headphone at all, there're really comfortable even after hours and hours
of use. The ear cushions are just perfect, not too stiff or soft and the cushion at the top of the
heaphones (headband cushion) makes it even more comfortable and reduces "headphone hair".
Sound canceling: They also reduce sound from outside sources, although not completely, but good enough
for my standards. I cranked the headphones up to about two thirds volume (which is pretty loud) and
closed the headphones, I could hear the song, but faintly and once I open the heaphones up it gets loud!
They do a good job of canceling noise and keeping what your're listening to to yourself.
Weight: How do they weigh? Well, if you looked at the specifications page, you'll see that these
headphones only weigh 285 grams (about 0.63lbs). That's pretty light considering the quality and price
of these headphones. Also, there're really easy to take to LAN parties.
Cable and accessories: The cable is coiled which means it's really hard to tangle up and they've never
gotten tangled while I was using it at all! These headphones also comes with a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter,
what's really neat about the adapter is that it screws on so they won't come off unlike the ones
you just push in. The other things it comes with is a manual which is in German, English, French, Spanish,
and three more European languages. It does a good job of explaining all the features, specifications, and
how to change parts on the headphones.
Replaceable part?: Yes, apparently you can replaces parts on the heaphones if they break or get damaged.
They include the ear cushions, headband padding, and the cable. As mentioned above the manual explains
how to change these parts and in good detail too, but you first have to order them from the Sennheiser
store online or go to a audio/video store that carries Sennheiser producs. It's a neat thing to include
in the product, but buying replacement parts on this headphone are kind of spendy, but I'm sure they're
of the upmost quality.
Conclusion
This set of headphones has many unique features that are very helpfull. The cable is
basically tangle proff, it's very very light, and not to mention very comfortable! I've been using
these set of headphones for a long time and have taken them to numerous LAN parties without a single
problem. I would recommend these headphones to anyone who wants some quality headphones
and are willing to pay some cash for them.
