Start by going to the window with a frame from the movie in it. Set the "Set Credits Start" option before going any further.

File --> Save & Encode

A new window will popup called "Save .avs"

Resizing --> Selected Output Resolution
Noise Filter --> None
Subtitles --> before Resizing (default)
Trim --> No Trim
Resize Filter --> Lanczos (sharp)

Click on "Save & Encode". A new window will popup called "Save Frameserver", type in desired filename and save.

First Pass Settings
The encoding control panel will then popup with more settings.Click on the "XviD" tab, go down and select the "First Pass" button. Make sure the "Encoding Mode" is "2 Pass - 1st pass" beforing clicking on "Advanced Options..." in the new window that pops up.

Global Settings Tab
Motion Search Precision --> For 1CD backups select "6 - Ultra High", 2CDs select "5 - Very High"
Quantization Type - 1CD backups "H.263", 2CDs "MPEG"
FourCC used - Leave it at default
VHQ mode - Improves quality the higher you set it at the cost of encoding speed, leave at 0
Everything else - Leave at default

Quantization Settings Tab - Leave at default unless you know EXACTLY what your doing!
Two Pass Settings Tab - Only thing you need to do is make sure "Discard first pass" is selected.
Alt. Curve Settings Tab - Don't need to do anything
Credits Settings Tab- Use the frame number you wrote down earlier and enter it into "Credits begin at frame no."
Debug Settings Tab - Don't need to do anything

Second Pass Settings
Go back into the encoding panel, this time click on the "Second Pass" button, a new window will popup with settings for the second pass. Make sure the "Encoding Mode" is "2 Pass - 2nd pass Int" before going any further. The "Desired Size" should already be set, if not just click on "ok" to go back into the control panel and look for "Video Size" in the top middle box, use that number. Click on the "Advanced options..." button.

Global Settings Tab - Make sure it's exactly the same settings as the First Pass or else you'll have some weird things happening.
Quantization Settings Tab
- Leave at default unless you know EXACTLY what your doing!
Two Pass Settings Tab - Make sure "Discard first pass" is selected and don't modify any of the other settings unless you know what your doing
Alt. Curve Settings Tab - Don't need to do anything
Credits Settings Tab - One thing to do here, in the "Credits rate reduction" area, select "Desired % rate:" if it isn't already and input in the desired percent of the origional bitrate the credits should be encoded at. 10% looks pretty bad but you can still just barely read the credits so, I don't go below 10%. The default (20%) should be fine.
Debug Settings Tab - Don't need to do anything

Once you've done all that click on ok a bunch of time to return to the encoding control panel.

Audio Settings

Back at the control panel, go to the "Audio 1" tab.

AC3 Audio

All you have to do is select "Just Mux." at the bottom part of the window. If there isn't a file selected in the "Audio Source File" section click on the "Select" button, a window will popup asking where the file it, go to your xvidbackup folder and select the "filename.ac3" file.
